Disability Direct in Derby, an established charity started more than 20 years ago has received funding from the Police and Crime Commissioner for Derbyshire to run a Hate Crime project in Derby and South Derbyshire. Tackling Hate Crime Together was launched in January and not only supports disabled people but those with all protected characteristics.
LD Carers Direct are working closely with Disability Direct to promote the project within Derby and South Derbyshire as we know Hate Crime can be real problem for families with children with Learning Disabilities. The project aims to support victims, potential victims, raise awareness of hate incidents and crimes and support with the reporting process.
