The Derbyshire Health Care NHS FoundationTrust’s Research team has an exciting new research study to offer to the siblings of service users. It offers support and psycho-education via an online programme. The study aims to address the needs of siblings (of people experiencing the onset of psychosis within the last three years), through the provision of an online programme – providing interactive peer support, information on psychosis and related coping and management strategies. This resource aims to support siblings to look after themselves and support their brother or sister. A secondary aim is to evaluate whether this is a useful resource for siblings and their feedback will be valuable to the study team.
The study has been designed by Kings College London along with Rethink Mental Illness and other supporting bodies.
If you know of anyone you feel could benefit from this project please feel free to direct them to the website http://siblingpsychosis.org/, email keeley.marriott@derbyshcft.nhs.uk or call 01332 623700 ext 33407 for more information. There is a short window for siblings to sign up to this study, with the recruitment window closing in March 2015.
